Wearable drone detector unveiled for individual soldiers
MyDefence has launched Wingman Edge, a wearable radio-frequency drone detector weighing less than one kilogram and approximately 17% less than its predecessor. The device combines stored signal signatures with onboard artificial intelligence to recognise unfamiliar transmissions, including drone-controller links, Wi-Fi and analogue video signals. Passive sensing avoids transmitting a detection signal, while local processing allows use without network access and optional sharing with nearby personnel or vehicle systems. The launch presents a lighter individual warning device with expanded signal analysis, although the manufacturer did not announce a detection range or independently validated performance figures.
