General Atomics says Wildfire offers greater payload and range than MQ-9A Reaper at lower cost for massed combat operations
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems unveiled Wildfire, a clean-sheet medium-altitude, long-endurance uncrewed aircraft that the company says carries more payload and flies farther than the MQ-9A Reaper at lower cost. The design is intended for military, civil and commercial missions and incorporates lessons from the company's large UAS fleet, with an emphasis on affordability and scalable production. Wildfire is a company offering rather than a selected U.S. programme, and its stated performance has not yet been independently demonstrated in operational service. Detailed configuration and customer commitments remain undisclosed.
