Britain to channel more than £100 billion through UK suppliers under decade-long nuclear submarine, warhead and infrastructure expansion

Britain expects more than £100 billion to flow through domestic suppliers over the next decade as it expands submarines, nuclear warheads and supporting infrastructure. The Defence Nuclear Enterprise is budgeted at £12 billion in 2025-26 and involves more than 6,000 UK companies, with spending through 2029-30 set £20 billion above the previous four-year period. Priorities include two submarine construction programmes, SSN-AUKUS design work, two warhead programmes and the reactor-fuel cycle. The government also plans £15 billion for warheads, £6 billion for submarine production facilities and £26 billion for naval-base modernisation.
