Feature: G2E consortium kicks off development plan for GCAP sensing and communications

The G2E consortium has commenced formal development planning for the sensing and communications architecture of the Global Combat Air Programme, marking a concrete engineering milestone for the UK-Japan-Italy sixth-generation fighter initiative. G2E brings together key sensor and communications technology companies from the three partner nations to define the integrated sensor suite, datalink architecture and electronic warfare systems that will equip the GCAP platform. The kick-off of this development plan advances GCAP from concept definition toward systems engineering, with the program targeting an initial operating capability in the mid-2030s.
