KONGSBERG adds U.S. radar to its top-selling gun system

Kongsberg integrated an Echodyne electronically scanned radar into the widely used PROTECTOR remote weapon station to improve counter-drone performance. The compact radar can detect and track small unmanned aircraft and pass targeting data to the weapon station's electro-optical sensors and fire-control system. Combining search, identification and engagement on one mount may shorten response time while preserving the operator's protected position. The announcement describes a technical integration and market offering, not a named customer order or verified battlefield interception record under an identified military procurement or evaluation program.
