Maven is becoming the Pentagon’s everything app

Project Maven is being positioned as a core Defense Department operational platform and is expected to become a formal program of record by September 2026. Its software combines imagery and other sensor feeds to help users find, classify and track objects and share a common operational picture. The program is moving from its original intelligence-centered home toward broader department governance, with the Army also planning future contracting. Palantir provides major platform elements, while human authorities remain responsible for validating targets and approving any lethal action.
