Nellis Air Force Base says goodbye to last A-10 Thunderbolt II

Nellis Air Force Base has conducted the final flight of its last active-duty operational A-10, ending nearly five decades of training, testing and maintenance for the type at the base. Personnel and missions are being redistributed across platforms including the F-35, F-16 and F-15E rather than transferred to a single replacement aircraft. Moody Air Force Base continues to operate active-duty A-10s, while Whiteman Air Force Base retains a reserve squadron.
