NestAI opens Tallinn AI centre, plans more than 25 specialists to build adaptive battlefield systems for NATO's eastern flank

Finnish defense technology company NestAI is opening an artificial-intelligence research and development center in Tallinn and plans to employ more than 25 specialists in Estonia during 2027. The site will focus on adaptive AI, autonomous systems, battlefield software and command-and-control capabilities relevant to NATO’s eastern flank. NestAI has maintained a small Estonian team for more than a year and is expanding after establishing operations in Sweden and Latvia. The move also builds on a June 2026 cooperation framework between Finnish and Estonian defense authorities aimed at cross-border AI research and faster transfer of technology into operational use.
