Pakistan Tests Fatah-2 Extended-Range Ballistic Missile
Pakistan's Army announced a successful test launch of the Fatah-2 Extended Range surface-to-surface missile on October 13, describing it as a hypersonic ballistic missile. The official statement identifies advanced navigation and avionics and attributes its claimed missile-defense penetration capability to trajectory and maneuverability features. The test extends development of the Fatah family for longer-range strikes against deep targets and was witnessed by Army Rocket Force Command personnel, scientists and engineers. No maximum range, measured speed, accuracy result or operational deployment status was released, so the extended-range designation and hypersonic description do not establish independently demonstrated performance figures.
