Rafael-linked firm gets first orders for drone laser pod
Microcon Vision received initial orders for its MICRO-D laser-designation payload, with deliveries planned before the end of 2026, although customers, quantities and values were not disclosed. The CONTROP and Rafael-linked company combines a 30-millijoule STANAG 3733-compatible laser designator with day and thermal imaging in an approximately 1.9-kilogram pod for small unmanned aircraft. Seven sensors and functional channels share a two-axis gyro-stabilized gimbal, supporting surveillance, tracking and designation for compatible precision-guided weapons. Ethernet integration and a software development kit are standard, with optional MAVLink connectivity, while the manufacturer has not published effective designation range.
