REPMUS 2026: Nautrik tests R4 USV and collaborative autonomy
Swedish company Nautrik tested its four-metre R4 unmanned surface vessel during NATO’s REPMUS 2026 exercise in Portugal. The diesel-powered craft demonstrated mission autonomy and collaborative operation, while its compact design allows four vehicles to occupy roughly the footprint of a conventional eight-metre boat. Nimbus Boats supports production under a framework announced in September, and the concept is intended for distributed maritime sensing and other modular missions. The exercise was an experimentation event, so it did not establish fleet adoption, operational readiness, procurement quantities, or performance under sustained combat conditions.
