Rostec pitches quad-machine gun mount as affordable counter-UAV system

Rostec presented a counter-UAS system built around remotely controlled mounts, each carrying four 7.62 mm PKT machine guns. Electro-optical television and thermal channels, automatic tracking and a laser rangefinder support engagement, while a command post can control up to four mounts by cable or a wireless link reaching about 500 metres. The associated radar is claimed to detect a 0.1-square-metre target at 3.5 kilometres and a 0.03-square-metre target at 800 metres. The concept seeks a lower cost per engagement than missiles, but independent effectiveness and procurement status were not reported.
