U.S. Air Force Opens KC-46 Program to More Allies for Long-Range Refueling Operations Through 2035

The US Air Force increased a KC-46A post-production contracting ceiling from $5.7 billion to $19.1 billion to accommodate Japan, Israel, and possible future foreign military sales customers through April 2035. Contract FA8609-19-D-0007 can cover customer modifications, upgrades, sustainment, and work needed for Federal Aviation Administration requirements after production. Boeing will perform most activity in Seattle. The $13.4 billion ceiling increase does not purchase aircraft or commit funds; it creates capacity for later task orders, so additional allied participation, quantities, and delivery schedules will depend on separately negotiated agreements.
