U.S. Air Force to buy 60 DroneBuster counter-drone systems

Pacific Air Forces issued a solicitation seeking 60 DroneBuster 5 handheld counter-drone systems with an add-on focused on disrupting satellite-navigation links. The compact electronic-warfare device is intended to give deployed personnel a portable option for detecting or defeating small uncrewed aircraft around bases. Responses were due September 11, but the notice stated that funding had not yet been made available. The requirement should therefore be treated as a prospective purchase rather than a completed acquisition, with quantity, schedule and award dependent on appropriations and contracting decisions.
