U.S. Marines’ new drone killer gets confirmation from V2X

V2X confirmed a $19 million US Marine Corps contract for Tempest counter-drone vehicles, including delivery, maintenance, software and training. A related Pentagon notice valued the work at about $19.06 million for 10 vehicles through August 10, 2027, although V2X described its award as an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract and did not confirm that both notices cover exactly the same scope. Tempest uses a modified Can-Am Maverick X3 with sensors and two AGM-114L Longbow Hellfire launchers to engage Class 2 and Class 3 uncrewed aircraft.
