UK receives Babcock AI system to analyse hostile comms

Babcock delivered its Nomad artificial-intelligence signals-intelligence platform to the UK Ministry of Defence under an urgent operational requirement. Nomad processes intercepted voice and text close to collection, cleaning, transcribing, translating and analyzing communications before presenting information about a target’s position, movement and capabilities under severe time pressure. Edge processing reduces dependence on reach-back infrastructure and can shorten the interval between collection and action in contested environments, while human operators remain responsible for interpreting outputs and applying them to intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
