Ukrainian AI targeting system advances to NATO combat testing after placing among winners in airfield-denial competition
A Ukrainian artificial-intelligence targeting module will advance to additional NATO testing after placing third in the Persistent Airfield Denial competition. The entry ranked among nine finalists selected from more than 60 submissions and was assessed for autonomy, precision and resilience when navigation or communications are degraded by electronic warfare. NATO plans further trials, including combat-relevant evaluation, to determine whether the technology can support attacks on defended airfield targets. The result is a competitive testing milestone rather than an acquisition decision, and the developer, contract value, production quantity and fielding timetable were not disclosed.
