NATO sets out plan to make allied forces quantum ready
NATO released a roadmap for making allied forces ready to exploit quantum computing, sensing, and communications while managing the security risks those technologies create. Priorities include post-quantum cryptography, resilient positioning and navigation, advanced detection, common standards, experimentation, and closer coordination between governments, industry, and researchers. The document establishes direction for development and adoption rather than announcing a single acquisition program, and many operational applications remain immature or subject to further testing. Allies will need sustained investment and workforce development before the roadmap produces dependable battlefield advantages at scale.
