U.S. Space Force awards L3Harris $150 million contract to modernize space surveillance and ground systems
The U.S. Space Force has awarded L3Harris Technologies a $150 million contract to modernize space domain awareness (SDA) surveillance sensors and associated ground control systems. The contract covers upgrades to existing ground-based optical and radar tracking infrastructure used to monitor orbital objects and detect threats to U.S. satellites. Modernization work will improve tracking precision and processing speed for the Space Surveillance Network. The award is part of the Space Force's broader effort to maintain decision superiority in an increasingly congested and contested orbital environment.
