KAI Conducts First MUM-T Flight
Korea Aerospace Industries announced its first formation flight between an FA-50 light fighter and the jet-powered Adaptable Aerial Platform, advancing its manned-unmanned teaming development. The 20-minute trial took place south of Goheung at approximately 7,000 feet, with the aircraft maintaining separation of 30 to 100 feet while flying at 360 kilometers per hour. The company-funded AAP weighs 150 kilograms and is being developed for reconnaissance, electronic warfare, deception and strike missions. KAI plans to use the flight data to develop airborne control of the drone from the FA-50 and mature its integrated teaming architecture.
