Member of Congress Raja Krishnamoorthi demands Pentagon answers on F-35 parts diverted to Hong Kong, citing stealth risks
U.S. Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi asked the Pentagon to investigate F-35 components reportedly diverted to Hong Kong, setting an October 12 deadline in his September 28 letter. The shipment reportedly contained a weapons-bay door and canopy sent from Australia for repair in the United States, with a South Korean stop before rerouting. He requested the chain of custody, a technology-exploitation assessment and an explanation for unresolved recommendations on spare-parts accountability. Lockheed Martin described the components as unserviceable and posing low exploitation risk, while the Pentagon said it was working to recover them and investigate the incident.
