Netherlands plans domestic production of EOS high-energy laser weapons, establishing European hub for defence against drone attacks

The Netherlands plans to establish domestic production of EOS high-energy laser weapons in partnership with Australian firm EOS, positioning the country as a European manufacturing hub for directed-energy counter-drone systems. The initiative responds directly to the proliferation of drone threats observed in current conflicts and aims to reduce dependence on non-European supply chains for a critical defensive capability. Local production is intended to support both Dutch armed forces requirements and potential allied customers across Europe.
